Cut from a scene in which our heroine is left stranded by her lover and ends up in jail.
O the difficulties of a 2D representation of 3D work… At the top left, are the two curly swooping black shapes (one big, one little) cutouts — “see-throughs” to the background? or are they black strips overlaid on the white(ish) background?
JES, this is only a section of the entire piece and they are black strips over the matt and the picture. This is why I need that software you recommended. Soon I’m going to get this the way I want it to be. Ha.
Although I know the heroine is supposed to be stranded in this scene, I find her solitude in the cradling roots of the tree comforting.
I wrote a guest essay for Tonic Generation called “Green: A Love Story” http://news.tonicgen.com/news/article/green-a-love-story/ …. If you’ve read it, you’ll understand that this picture is cut from the cloth of my soul. You’ll also notice both a pronoun and a spelling error – neither of which are my fault, but are Oops! nonetheless.
MPJ said she’s getting a piece of yours (a lovely tree sans girl) and I’m JEALOUS! I’m Green with envy. (pun intended)
